Job Summary
The Shift Leader at United Dairy Farmers provides excellent guest service by ensuring the store is prepared and guests are satisfied. Responsibilities include managing point of sale transactions, preparing food items like shakes and ice cream, stocking merchandise, ensuring store security, and maintaining cleanliness. Applicants must have strong communication and arithmetic skills to handle cash transactions and inventory. The position requires the ability to work in varied temperature environments and to lift merchandise as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to speak, hear and understand spoken English
- Ability to see well enough to operate store equipment
- Ability to understand operating instructions for store equipment
- Ability to prepare DipSide items
- Ability to handle coins, currency, checks, credit transactions, coupons and food stamps
- Ability to recognize numbers, count and do arithmetic
- Ability to move merchandise from storage to shelves
- Ability to clean counters and other surfaces
- Ability to tolerate exposure to temperatures as low as –30 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to tolerate exposure to temperatures as low as +33 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to raise at least 10 pounds from floor level to a height of 5 feet
- Ability to place an 8” x 10” x 10” package weighing 21 pounds into a dip cabinet
