Job Summary
The Shift Leader at United Dairy Farmers is responsible for delivering the Hi Five Guest Experience, overseeing store operations in the absence of a higher-level manager, and ensuring compliance with company policies and laws. Key duties include providing customer service, operating the point of sale system, stocking merchandise, maintaining store security and cleanliness, and accurately completing records. Essential skills include effective communication, basic arithmetic, ability to handle cash and operate store equipment, and physical capabilities to manage stock and maintain a safe environment. The role requires working various shifts, necessitating flexibility.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to speak, hear and understand spoken English effectively.
- Ability to see well enough to operate store equipment and check identification documents.
- Ability to understand operating instructions for store equipment.
- Ability to prepare DipSide items using supplies located in the dip cabinets.
- Ability to handle coins, currency, checks, credit transactions, coupons and food stamps, recognize denominations and accurately make change.
- Ability to recognize numbers, count and do arithmetic to complete required records.
- Ability to move merchandise from storage to shelves/displays/freezers.
- Ability to clean counters and other surfaces.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to temperatures as low as –30 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 2 minutes.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to temperatures as low as +33 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 10 minutes.
- Ability to raise at least 10 pounds from floor level to a height of 5 feet.
- Ability to place an 8” x 10” x 10” package weighing 21 pounds into a dip cabinet.
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally qualified under applicable state laws to conduct all sales transactions including alcohol and tobacco sales.
