Job Summary
Shift Leader at Smashburger oversees FOH & BOH teams, promotes a positive work environment, ensures operation of people-focused processes, and delivers strong guest experiences. Responsibilities include onboarding and training new employees, training delivery via SmashConnect/LMS, conducting line checks and opening/closing procedures, enforcing food safety and COGS practices, managing daily labor and cash handling, and driving guest service metrics (NPS/OSAT). Requires leadership and people-management skills, excellent attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Required Qualifications
- Previous Shift Leader Experience
- 90-day completion of train the trainer course
- Flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Follow Smashburger uniform standards
- Must successfully complete Smashburger training program
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with restaurant management, front line employees and corporate support teams
- People management skills to effectively select, assess, coach/counsel, develop, motivate, and lead restaurant teams
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proven time management, consistency, and organizational skills
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and results driven
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time and to move and lift boxes of food/supplies up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in high temperatures
