Job Summary
Shift Leader at Pizza Inn responsible for delivering a positive guest experience by serving as a team member and supervising staff, stepping in for store management when needed. Key duties include directing team members, opening/closing the store, performing register closeouts and bank deposits, addressing guest concerns, coordinating with management, cross-training across positions, and ensuring adherence to local food-handling laws and Pizza Inn standards. The role requires strong communication, organization, urgency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; physical requirements include standing up to 11 hours and lifting up to 40 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Prior restaurant or customer service experience of 1 year
- High school degree, or equivalent
- Prior supervisory experience is preferred
- Must be able to operate with minimal supervision
- Must be able to direct others and delegate responsibilities
- Must be able to effectively communicate with guests and team members
- Must be able to resolve guest concerns calmly and professionally
- Must have a sense of urgency
- Must be organized, flexible, and detail-oriented
- Must be able to comprehend and execute local food-handling laws and standards
- Must be able to comprehend and execute Pizza Inn standards and expectations
- Must be able to act professionally and promote a pleasant work environment
- Must be able to cross-train in all positions and pass a manager skill test
- Must be able to focus and perform with a high level of energy throughout the shift
- Must be able to maintain a friendly and outgoing demeanor during high volume
- Must have basic math skills and handle money accurately
- Able to operate with or without a calculator or POS system
