Job Summary
Engineering Shift Leader responsible for the inspection, operation and maintenance of critical facility MEP assets within a data-centre environment. Lead the on-site engineering shift team, ensure safe systems of work and regulatory compliance, attend client and operations meetings, and drive improvements in asset availability. Oversee HV/LV switching operations, coordinate Planned, Reactive and Corrective works with Specialist Vendors, manage SLA compliance, prepare concise technical reports, and provide engineering development and coaching for team members. Proactively manage spares, change-management approvals, risk reporting, and shift handovers, while maintaining high standards of safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement across the engineering function.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Critical Environments such as Banking HQ and Data Centres
- Authorised Person (High Voltage & Low Voltage) Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
- HNC or HND (or equivalent)
- C&G Pts. 1 & 2, equivalent or exceeds
- 18th Edition IET: Wiring and Installation
- C&G 2391Inspection, Test and Certification (Or equivalent)
- BS 7671 (Current Edition)
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to lead, motivate and direct a small team of engineers
- Willingness to attend on and off-site training for MEP assets (may require nights away)
- Ability to comprehend and act upon both verbal and written instructions
- Proactive, diligent and vigilant work ethic
- Integrity, honesty and punctuality
