Job Summary
Shift Lead in machining oversees a production-shift in a front-line manufacturing environment, directing daily shift activities, enabling safe, efficient, and high-quality operations. Responsibilities include leading safety talks, coaching team members, coordinating with maintenance/engineering/leadership to ensure materials and schedule adherence, supporting setup/changeovers, inspecting work for defects, and accurately recording production run information. The role emphasizes strong communication and organizational skills to drive safety, quality, and production results, with required pre-employment drug screen and background check and physical ability to handle typical manufacturing duties and PPE. Desired background includes mechanical aptitude and prior industrial/front-line leadership experience.
Required Qualifications
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 10 to 50 lbs.
- Ability to wear required employer-provided personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to regularly stand and move throughout the department for the duration of the shift
- Mechanical aptitude required; prior industrial and front-line leadership experience preferred
