Job Summary
The Shift Lead oversees assembly personnel to achieve production goals and improve processes in line with BAC’s safety, production, and quality standards. Responsibilities include coordinating manpower, delegating assignments, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, and training employees. The position requires effective communication and partnership with various departments, along with modeling LEAN principles and ensuring adherence to quality standards. Candidates should exhibit strong supervisory, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to operate lifting devices. Training will be provided to employees, and the Shift Leader may also assist in the onboarding process.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated supervisory/management skills including leading, delegation, and follow-up.
- Ability to work independently and exhibits sound judgment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop high performing teams and lead groups to accomplish set goals.
- Effective written communication including documentation of processes.
- Demonstrated oral communication skills including the ability to communicate professionally with BAC customer and co-workers.
- Demonstrated understanding of the plant IPI process and CAP program.
- Ability to lead meetings and give presentations.
- Competent at problem solving, and use of Continuous Improvement tools.
- Working knowledge of computers including word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to operate lifting devices including overhead and JIB cranes; achieved through required training and certification.
- High level of product knowledge of BAC’s numerous models and parts.
- Competency with MS Excel at the intermediate level including updating data and generating metrics.
