Job Summary
Shift Equipment Engineer at Micron Technology focused on maintaining and improving semiconductor equipment performance. Responsible for supervising tool health, conducting preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical/electrical/software issues, defining preventive maintenance schedules, training technicians, and supporting TPM culture. Works with manufacturing/process engineering to improve spare parts availability, qualify second-source components, and drive cost reduction. Develops methods to reduce defectivity, prepares reports on equipment availability and variability, and collaborates with customers on hardware/software improvements. Utilizes vacuum systems, thermodynamics/heat transfer concepts, plasma physics, and LAM plasma etching tools; involved in tool installations, chamber matching, engineering tests, and configuration optimizations; ensures accurate pass-down and leads complex problem solving during excursions. Qualification includes a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field and experience in data analysis and SPC, electrical repair, and tool-maintenance practices.

- Prepare reports on availability, variability, and cost reduction projects
- Train technicians to properly maintain tools
- Support TPM culture through metrics, WS health reports, CIP items, MTAGs, and restoration guides
- Support manufacturing and process engineering teams by defining and writing preventive maintenance schedules
- Improve spare parts availability
- Qualify cost effective second source components
- Partner with customers on hardware and software improvements
- Create SPC/FDC strategies
- Train technicians to maintain tools
- Escalate inventory issues
