Shift Duty Engineer

Shift Duty Engineer provides guests with prompt maintenance support by responding to repair requests, performing preventive maintenance on hotel systems and equipment (including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and kitchen gear), and ensuring safe, efficient operation of building utilities. Responsibilities include inspecting tools and equipment, locating and operating shut-offs, maintaining maintenance inventory, communicating daily activities to other shifts, and applying knowledge across categories such as air conditioning, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and energy conservation. Tasks also cover surface preparation and minor repairs (painting, drywall, wood trim), basic electrical work (switches and outlets), TV programming, and inventory duties; use of Lockout/Tagout prior to maintenance; basic computer input for air handler schedules and temperature changes; and general landscaping and outdoor repairs as part of broader facilities maintenance.
