Job Summary
Lead and supervise daily Engineering Department operations, including rooms property maintenance, training, and coaching. Respond to work tickets, maintenance requests, and guest concerns to ensure operational excellence. Oversee maintenance of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, life safety, and mechanical systems while monitoring building systems and coordinating repairs. Support hotel renovations, capital projects, and equipment replacements, ensuring safe, timely completion. Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, and mechanical rooms. Manage engineering shop inventory, maintain records using the CMMS, and ensure shops remain clean and safe. Collaborate with hotel leadership and other departments for operational support and special projects. Requires flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call emergency response.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum five (5) years of engineering or facilities maintenance experience
- At least two (2) years in a supervisory or management role
- Strong knowledge of HVAC
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance
- Strong knowledge of life safety systems
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Working knowledge of building codes
- Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Strong computer proficiency
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to walk, climb stairs and ladders
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to kneel, reach, bend
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call emergency response
Desired Qualifications
- Technical or trade school coursework in a related field
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- EPA Universal Refrigerant certification
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification
- Electrical certification
- Plumbing certification
- HVAC certification
