Job Summary
SHEQ Manager responsible for multi-site safety, health and environment compliance across Ambient distribution centres in the North Midlands and South Yorkshire region; base location flexible within these areas. Drive a culture of risk-based decision making, coach site management teams, ensure compliance with H&S, BRC, Environmental Energy, risk prevention and ISO standards; deliver Safety Management Systems, conduct reviews of SSOW and analyze incident trends, participate in monthly safety meetings, design and deliver safety training, and support audits across sites. Liaise with local safety committees and external bodies (HSE, Local authorities, Fire service) to promote best practices, incident investigations, and continuous improvement. Occasional nights away may be required. Requires NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (and related safety qualifications), strong training delivery capabilities, and experience with external audits and multi-site safety programs.

- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
- Diploma or working towards
- NEBOSH Fire
- IEMA
- Manual Handling
- SEMA Racking inspector
- Knowledge of COMAH
- DGSA desirable
- Technical membership of IOSH or above
- Proven ability to drive/influence culture to promote a safety critical working environment
- Experience of working with external auditors, contractors and suppliers to support accreditation processes
- Experience of Managing and/or Developing Policy/Procedure with a thorough and practical knowledge of accident investigation and root cause analysis
- Thorough understanding of Health, safety, environmental legislation, PUWER, LOLER, COSHH essential
- Experience in FMCG and/or workplace transport environments
- A full UK driving licence
