Job Summary
Shelter Worker is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for shelter clients, assisting with nightly operations, enforcing rules and guidelines, and providing support to staff and volunteers. The role involves documenting incidents in daily logs, distributing necessities to clients, and maintaining facility cleanliness. Key skills include teamwork, calmness in crises, the ability to establish rapport with individuals in need, and basic writing skills to report incidents. The position requires physical ability to lift items and carry out various shelter duties. No formal education is required, but a strong character and understanding of human behaviors are essential.
