Shelter Support Worker - Green Street Shelter

Job Summary
Conduct visual monitoring of all shelter guests and perform scheduled safety checks of common areas, entrances, stairwells, and exterior grounds. Facilitate a respectful check-in process, provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed, and administer naloxone, CPR, or basic first aid during emergencies. Complete required documentation at intake, HMIS, and incident reporting while maintaining strict guest confidentiality. Immediately communicate safety concerns to colleagues, collaborate on response plans, and submit written incident reports before the shift ends. Work Sunday through Thursday from 3pm to 11pm in a low-threshold, trauma-informed environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months experience in health or human service-related fields
- Demonstrated verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic proficiency in word processing and other computer functions using Windows, Word, and Google Email and Apps
- Individuals with lived expertise
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Six months experience in health or human service-related fields preferred
- preferably working with those who are unhoused and those experiencing behavioral health and/or substance use disorders
