Job Summary
Oversee shelter shift operations and act as the operational supervisor of shelter activities at Delta Park Motel Shelter. Provide advocacy, information, and referral services to participants, lead shelter staff, promote a collaborative team environment, and ensure safety and crisis de-escalation. Participate in program design, implementation, and evaluation to improve access and efficiency of residential programs. Responsible for staff coverage, training guidance, performance evaluations, and clocking/timecard oversight in Paycom. Must acquire First Aid/CPR/AED and Bloodborne Pathogens/Narcan training within specified timelines. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred; capable of coordinating with diverse participants and staff, handling sensitive situations, and maintaining a professional, respectful environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or two (2) years of social services experience, or one (1) year of experience working at Transition Projects
- Demonstrated ability to train, lead, and provide support to colleagues
- Demonstrated ability to be an effective problem solver
- Understanding of the issues surrounding homelessness, chemical dependency, mental health, domestic violence and sexual assault
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of services available to low-income and homeless persons through Transition Projects and other agencies
- Demonstrated ability to use word processing, database, spreadsheet, email, and Internet programs
- Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish fluency is strongly preferred
- Office/clerical experience and familiarity with office equipment
