Job Summary
Assist shelter staff in fostering healthy relationships with guests while minimizing secondary trauma through targeted training and crisis intervention. Respond to guest crises and navigate emergency safety procedures to prioritize both guest and staff needs. Advocate for appropriate care levels and collaborate with PSI clinical teams and leadership. Work from established Pine Street Inn policies to ensure a safe environment during weather emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work or related degree
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the Human Services field
- Knowledge in the areas of trauma, addiction, secondary trauma, grief support, recovery and mental illness
- Knowledge of issues pertaining to the homeless
- Demonstrated skills in motivational interviewing, crisis intervention and de-escalation
Desired Qualifications
- Licensure as an LMHC or LICSW
- Administering Narcan and CPR in a work setting
- Knowledge of area resources
- Bilingual English/Spanish/Haitian Creole
- Experience in training direct care staff in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
