Job Summary
Shelter Residential Aide (Casual) at Grace Street Shelter provides safety, security, and supportive services for Emergency Shelter clients. Responsibilities include monitoring client activity and adherence to house rules, maintaining the shelter log, assisting with inclement weather operations (check-in lines, client intake, distributing personal items like blankets), regulating lights/curfew/quiet hours, responding calmly to emergencies, and performing light housekeeping to keep common areas clean. The role requires reading, writing, and communicating in English, ability to work evenings/overnights, and physical ability to perform sit/stand/walk duties with light lifting. Preferred qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and one year of security or social service experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience; CPR/First Aid preferred.
