Job Summary
Monitor shelter activities to ensure resident safety, rule compliance, and sanitation through hyper-sanitization of all areas. Utilize positive behavioral management techniques, including verbal redirection and de-escalation, while addressing procedural violations and responding to resident requests, complaints, and inquiries. Document all events and serious incidents in comprehensive written records, consult with supervisors regarding personal needs, and conduct regular inspections to identify improvement opportunities. Assist with intake, bed assignment, and supply distribution, teach hygiene skills, and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients and volunteers.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years' experience working with low-income/at-risk/homeless individuals or vulnerable populations
- Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance
- Driver's License with a clear record
- Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice
- Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates
- Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others
