Job Summary
Monitor shelter activities, safety, and security while enforcing guest policies and assisting clients with intake and exit paperwork. Maintain logs, complete incident reports, and handle donations. Perform light maintenance, janitorial duties, and unit preparation including cleaning and painting. Respond to emergencies, call 911 if necessary, and alert management of safety concerns. Provide information to participants and report operational issues and participant welfare to the Shelter Operations Manager within 24 to 48 hours. Work Saturday and Sunday from 9AM to 9PM.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work with people with sensitivity to cultural, race, gender, mental health and class issues
- Problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Basic computer skills
- Able to read, write and communicate in English
- Must have access to reliable transportation
- Must pass criminal background checks and drug screening test
Desired Qualifications
- Experience providing services to low-income and/or people experiencing homelessness
- One year maintenance, customer service and/or direct service
