Job Summary
Administer treatments and vaccines, perform physical exams and diagnostic testing, and assist veterinarians with routine and orthopedic surgeries, radiology, dentistry, and laboratory procedures. Independently evaluate animals to determine adoptability and appropriate care plans while maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring clinic cleanliness. Follow Fear Free handling techniques, support euthanasia procedures when necessary, and train junior staff to maintain a safe environment. Requires 2+ years of veterinary hospital experience, proficiency in phlebotomy and pharmacology, and ability to handle animals weighing up to 50 pounds. Schedule is Thursday through Sunday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Minimum 2 years experience at a veterinary hospital or clinic
- Knowledge of phlebotomy
- Knowledge of immunology
- Knowledge of parasitology
- Knowledge of endocrinology
- Knowledge of pharmacology
- Proficiency with safe and humane animal handling skills
- Proficiency with TPR
- Proficiency with vaccines
- Proficiency with medication administration

- Proficiency with veterinary terminology
- Proficiency with documentation

- Ability to assist DVM with surgery
