Job Summary
Shelter Manager oversees shift staff, schedules, and compliance with federal/state guidelines; assists with orientation and development of treatment plans; maintains safety, confidentiality, and professional conduct; uses positive child management techniques including de-escalation; plans and supervises activities for children; conducts campus rounds and radio communications; collaborates with law enforcement, medical professionals, and community resources; must be fluent in English and Spanish; works evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed; requires 1+ year of related experience and/or training; educational background in social work/psychology/criminal justice/sociology or related field (associate or bachelor’s degree; graduate degree preferred); able to pass background checks and drug screens; duties include crisis intervention, staff supervision, and ensuring regulatory and contract compliance; Compass Connections is based in Texas and emphasizes equal employment opportunity; sponsorship of work visas is not offered at this time.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or bachelor’s or undergraduate degree from an accredited program/university (required)
