Shelter Case Manager

Job Summary
Provide direct case management and custodial services to 18-24-year-olds at Covenant House California, including intake, full assessment, development and revision of an Individual Service Plan (ISP), linking residents to community resources, documenting progress and external grants, presenting cases at monthly meetings, and facilitating psycho-educational and support groups. The role requires strong organizational abilities, trauma-informed practice, knowledge of HMIS/ETO documentation systems, and the ability to coordinate referrals; Spanish bilingual skills are preferred; a valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation are required. Full-time position with no supervisory duties.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or related field OR an Associate’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or related field and 2 years of case management experience, preferably with homeless or runaway youth
- Experience: In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, must have a minimum of 4 years of case management experience, preferably with homeless or runaway youth
- SKILLS: Must be a self-starter and team player with the ability to work with other staff. Knowledge of adolescent development, community resources, and case management skills. Must have good organizational skills and the ability to communicate with members, clients, vendors and the public. Communication with and about youth must reflect a “strength based” and “trauma informed” approach. Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
- TRANSPORTATION: Must have a valid CA Drivers License, reliable transportation and a good driving record.
