Shelter Assistant Supervisor

Assistant Supervisor in the Shelter Program provides leadership in the unit, assumes duties when the Supervisor is unavailable, assists in orientation, supervision, and evaluation of staff, assigns tasks, supervises youth, implements program schedule, coordinates quality improvement reviews, and reports activities to the House Supervisor. Responsibilities include trauma-responsive care aligned with agency trainings, independent judgment on delegated tasks, coaching staff on activities related to personal care, acculturation, life skills and recreation, assisting with daily activity planning, maintaining the environment, managing youth and staff headcounts, and conducting supervisor duties during absences. Schedule is Wednesday-Saturday from 12pm to 10pm with Sunday-Tuesday off. Minimum qualifications list the required education (AAS or HS diploma), three years of child care experience, one year of supervisory experience, bilingual English/Spanish, flexible schedule, and a valid NYS driver's license, plus pre-employment physical, PPD, and drug screen. Preferred: Bachelor's degree and related skills/certifications.
