Job Summary
Assist with the installation, assembly, and fabrication of sheet metal and HVAC duct systems while learning the trade under the guidance of experienced Journeymen and Foremen. Use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and other equipment safely and effectively. Follow project plans, specifications, and instructions provided by supervisors. Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all Upchurch and OSHA safety requirements. Properly use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE). Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized. Participate in trade-related training and apprenticeship programs. Support crew members with material handling, layout, and installation activities. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of sheet metal, HVAC, or commercial construction experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to use basic hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
- Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to learn
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and work in a commercial construction environment
Desired Qualifications
- Prior construction or sheet metal experience
- Trade school or craft training
