• •High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• •Must successfully complete background check and drug/alcohol testing
• •Must have personal hand tools for the trade
• •Must be able to maintain a good attendance record
• •Must comply with apprenticeship program requirements
• •Must maintain a record of on-the-job training
• •Must submit to apprenticeship program as required
• •Must adhere to all safety policies and procedures
• •Must be able to stop work if an unsafe condition is present
• •Must immediately notify a supervisor of a hazard
• •Must be able to work extended hours (more than 8 hours per day)
• •Must be able to work weekends
• •Must be able to work holidays
• •Must be able to work alongside a sheet metal tradesman daily
• •Must be able to receive mentoring from supervisors and sheet metal tradesmen
• •Must be able to use hand and power tools with proper certification
• •Must be able to learn and apply knowledge of layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of mechanical systems
• •Must be able to make and read isometric drawings
• •Must be able to read construction plans and shop drawings for mechanical systems
• •Must be able to inspect and test mechanical systems
• •Must be able to understand International and uniform mechanical codes
• •Must be able to assist in installation or assemblies in shop, building, or worksite
• •Must be able to assist with the set-up and operation of trade-specific equipment and machinery
• •Must be able to clean work area and restock supplies and materials
• •Must be able to operate forklifts, aerial lifts, scaffolding, scissor lifts, and ladders ensuring safe operation
• •Must be able to communicate clearly verbally, digitally, and in writing
• •Must be able to follow all safety rules and regulations
• •Must be able to take Mechanical Journeyman License Test after four years
