Sheetfed Second Press Operator (3pm-11pm)

Job Summary
Operate a sheetfed printing press by reading job tickets, artwork, and specifications to ensure runs meet customer deadlines and quality standards. Program color standards into the CPC, balance ink and water systems, and maintain proper web tension while pulling proofs to verify ink coverage and registration. Perform make-readies, folder operations, and routine preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, keeping an ongoing list of issues. Adhere to departmental regulations, ensure good housekeeping, and follow safety protocols while working in a clean, healthful environment. Shift runs from 3pm to 11pm with hours varying based on staffing needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Full comprehension in reading work instructions and business memos
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to use basic math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurements and critical thinking, to solve practical problems
- Must be self-motivated, reliable, and quality, safety oriented
- Must be able to access and navigate each department in the facility
- Requires use of proper body mechanics with pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling, and bending
- Pushing/pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Requires fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity, and coordination
- Requires near visual acuity
- Requires working around and operating departmental equipment
Desired Qualifications
- 1 – 3+ years of experience as a multicolor second press operator preferred
