Job Summary
Sheetfed 2nd Operator on a 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. shift assists the 1st operator with production and quality on a sheetfed offset press. Responsibilities include job setup (reviewing tickets, ensuring materials are ready, hang plate, change blanket, setup feeder during MR), maintaining ink levels, inspecting print quality (color, register, absence of imperfections), ensuring runnability and production speed, troubleshooting issues, performing simple press maintenance, and communicating maintenance, supply, and safety concerns to the shift supervisor. The role emphasizes maintaining press quality and environment, replenishing consumables, and supporting overall press operation. Education/experience notes include a trade school, high school or GED preferred plus 2-3 years of experience on offset presses or equivalent.
