Sheet Metal Worker 2nd – 3rd year Apprentice

Job Summary
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to install HVAC ductwork, ventilation systems, roofing components, and architectural sheet metal. Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment while maintaining strict compliance with building codes and project specifications. Perform quality inspections, troubleshoot fabrication and installation issues, and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating with the team, adhering to all health and safety regulations and site-specific security clearances. This 2nd or 3rd year apprentice role is based in Edmonton (relocating to Acheson, AB) with top industry wages and requires enrollment in the Sheet Metal Worker apprenticeship program.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Enrollment in the Sheet Metal Worker apprenticeship program at a 2nd or 3rd year level
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to obtain and maintain required site-specific security clearances and safety certifications
- Physically capable of lifting, carrying, climbing, kneeling, and working at heights in various weather and job-site conditions
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Desired Qualifications
- Additional industry-related training, technical courses, or certifications relevant to sheet metal fabrication and installation
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Experience installing HVAC ductwork, ventilation systems, roofing components, architectural sheet metal, and related products
- Experience using rigging and hoisting equipment
- Demonstrated experience performing quality inspections and ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications
