Job Summary
Perform aircraft sheet metal and structural repairs, removals, installations, modifications, and fabrication tasks in accordance with approved data. Read and interpret Structural Repair Manual (SRM), engineering drawings, blueprints, task cards, service bulletins, and customer work instructions. Layout, drill, countersink, ream, fit, install, and finish structural components and fasteners. Repair or replace skins, doublers, brackets, frames, stringers, panels, doors, fairings, and other structural assemblies. Use precision measuring tools, hand tools, pneumatic tools, and shop equipment safely and accurately. Complete required documentation and coordinate with Quality/Inspection for buyback and conformity requirements. Maintain FOD prevention, tool control, housekeeping, and safe work practices around aircraft and shop areas. Work at heights, in confined areas, and in a production environment. Provide tools as required by the client.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of aircraft sheet metal, structures, or modification experience
- Commercial MRO, heavy maintenance, or aircraft modification experience
- Experience on B737 and/or B777 aircraft
- Other commercial transport-category aircraft experience
- Ability to read SRM, engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical instructions in English
- Experience with layout, drilling, riveting, fastener installation/removal, corrosion repair, and structural rework
- Must be able to work at heights, in confined areas, and around aircraft in a production environment
- Must provide tools as required by the client/tool listing
