Job Summary
Lead a crew of roofing professionals on active job sites, overseeing installation, repair, and maintenance of sheet metal roofing systems including standing seam, R-panel, and custom-fabricated components. Perform material takeoffs and estimate quantities for roofing systems, then collaborate with project managers to develop job cost projections and material schedules based on blueprints. Read architectural plans and manufacturer guides to ensure compliance, while enforcing OSHA safety standards and conducting quality control checks on seam integrity and watertightness. Train and mentor crew members to enhance technical skills and safety awareness, serving as the liaison between site personnel, estimators, and clients. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 25% required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience in sheet metal roofing, including installation and repair of standing seam and architectural metal systems
- Strong leadership background with the ability to coach and supervise a roofing crew
- Advanced knowledge of roofing materials: EPDM, TPO, underlayment, self-adhered membranes, metal panels, fasteners, flashing, adhesives, and insulation boards
- Familiar with estimating software, manual takeoffs, and material procurement processes
- Proficient in reading blueprints, spec sheets, and technical manuals
- Excellent organizational and verbal communication skills
- Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed
