Job Summary
Manage laser, brake, and Timesaver teams to meet scheduled product ship dates and strict deadlines. Supervise employees on the 1st shift by offering corrective actions, handling disciplinary issues, and conducting performance reviews. Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and organize necessary interventions for improvement. Assist in training staff, developing department procedures, and crosstraining members for production flexibility. Monitor equipment and materials to identify errors, determine required resources, and report negligence. Perform all other duties as directed by management while maintaining forward-thinking planning and safety compliance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 + years of supervisory experience in sheet metal manufacturing with Lasers, Brakes, Saws and Timesavers
- Experience with and ability to learn to operate Lasers, brakes and Time savers
- 5+ years of strong mechanical experience
- Excellent working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, measuring tools
- Excellent knowledge of Lasers, Brakes, Timesavers and precision measuring tools
- Experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Previous management experience of 10 or more employees preferred
- Ability to delegate tasks while keeping overall responsibility
- Ability to motivate and encourage employees to work to their full potential
- Ability to read, interpret, and explain all types of simple assembly and material prints and BOMs
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and within tight deadlines
- Extremely organized, acute attention to detail, and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
- Ability to safely operate (or learn to operate) a crane, scissor lift, forklift, pallet jack, extended boom lift, and/or overhead crane
- Comfortable working in a non-temperature-controlled environment
- Ability to adapt to the work environment, deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events, while promoting a positive outlook
- Required to wear PPE equipment at all times while on the production floor
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. repeatedly and remain on feet for long periods of time
- Excellent team member; driven to contribute to the team effort
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; speak clearly and concisely in positive or negative situations
