Job Summary
Install hardware per customer specifications or engineering drawings, remove burrs, and polish all material types to maintain a clean environment and support the Shapes 6S program. Set up machines to form and cut material using press brakes, presses, and shears in accordance with operation process sheets or drawings under direction. Operate various tools including drill presses, belt sanders, orbital sanders, and girt blast machines while complying with all quality policies and regulations. Perform tasks in a safe and reasonable manner, utilizing inspection equipment such as calipers and micrometers to ensure accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Ability to read and follow company processes, policies, and procedures
- Ability to stay focused, adapt to change, and pay close attention to detail
- Ability to accept criticism and deal calmly and effectively with stressful situations
- Ability to perform mid-level math skills efficiently and accurately (including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals)
- Ability to use various inspection equipment. (Calipers, Micrometers, gage pins and height gages etc.)
- Ability to multitask and work effectively and efficiently to shop order standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in marking or serializing parts using various marking methods
- Proficient in operating sizers, planishers and an assortment of rivet guns
- Proficient in using required tools such as drill press, belt sander, orbital sander, swivel deburr, bench grinder, and other hand tools as instructed by the Operation Process Sheets
- Have a basic understanding of Blueprint reading
- Understanding and knowledge of different abrasives to use depending on material type being deburred
- Ability to operate girt blast machines and tumblers
- Understand how to check break edges and radi
- Knowledge of bending, rolling, and forming of multiple types of material CRS, Stainless, Aluminum...etc
- Possess basic GD&T knowledge
- Possess basic understanding of dimensional prints
- Must be able to communicate and read English proficiently
- Must be able to lift, move, transport and load items across the building up to 50 pounds at times
- Visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected
- Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to read computer screen and documents
- Normal hearing or corrected to normal
- Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes to take appropriate action
