Job Summary
Sheet Metal journeyman needed to fabricate, install, and repair sheet metal systems aboard naval and commercial vessels, including ventilation ducts and structural components. Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints and drawings, fabricating and installing ductwork and related components, performing inspections for safe work conditions (Safe for Man/Safe for Hot Work), monitoring tank conditions, and reporting safety or access issues. Must work safely in confined spaces, climb, lift up to 50 lbs, and be available for any shift including overtime. Strong reliability, safety-conscious approach, and ability to work independently or as part of a team are required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years experience as a journeyman Sheet Metal
- High school education/equivalent preferred
- Must be able to read blueprints and work from layouts, sketches, and written instructions
- Must be able to pass a Sheet Metal written test
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively in English
- Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in various weather conditions
