Job Summary
Atlantic Constructors is seeking a Sheet Metal Estimator with significant experience in commercial and institutional construction and extensive knowledge of shop fabrication and estimating software. The role involves providing detailed airside estimates for commercial projects and requires strong technical skills and the ability to work independently.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in commercial and institutional construction
- 3 years Estimating and Pre-Construction experience
- A thorough understanding and knowledge of shop fabrication/production rates, means methods of construction for the sheet metal trades
- A solid and thorough understanding of SMACNA duct construction standards and pressure classes
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and interface with BAS
- Experience in providing budgets, value management ideas, construction schedules, and manpower projections
- Demonstrated knowledge and efficiency in computer/network based estimating software (i.e. Autobid, Quote Soft, TSI, Estimation, or equivalent)
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam software
- Must be able to meet critical deadlines
- Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- AAS or BS Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related discipline
- Industrial facilities experience
- Experience with MS Project or other scheduling software
- Prior military experience
