Job Summary
Safely operate commercial vehicles, including box trucks, flatbeds, or tractor-trailers, to transport shed buildings and truck accessories from distribution centers to designated customer locations. Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while loading and securing cargo, conducting pre- and post-trip inspections, and performing basic maintenance tasks. Unload deliveries at job sites or retail stores, assist customers with item placement, and address inquiries to ensure a positive experience. Follow delivery schedules and routes provided by dispatchers to maintain timely and accurate service. This OTR position requires approximately 90% travel within the region, home weekends, and a valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to PASS background/drug screen/ DOT Physical
- Knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations, including hours-of-service regulations and vehicle weight limits
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (e.g., Class A) as required for the specific vehicles being operated
- Clean driving record with no recent accidents or traffic violations
- Previous experience as a CDL driver, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects
- Perform tasks such as loading and securing cargo, and operate commercial vehicles for extended periods
- Sitting, standing, bending, and reaching
- Exposure to varying weather conditions and physical exertion associated with manual labor during loading and unloading activities
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
