Job Summary
Shawnee School Counselor (School Year) provides a variety of counseling and guidance services to promote student development and achievement. Responsibilities include assessing student needs, developing and implementing a comprehensive and developmental guidance and counseling program, advising on academics, course selections, schedules, and career planning, assisting with personal, vocational, and educational goals, conducting crisis counseling and referrals to services, administering and interpreting standardized tests, coordinating with parents, administrators, and community partners, and promoting transitions from secondary education to post-secondary opportunities. Requires Indiana Department of Education School Counselor licensure and a Master’s degree in the licensure field; strong analytical, communication, and technology skills are necessary.
