Job Summary
Maintain productivity at shavers by keeping boxes full, monitoring equipment functionality, and efficiently managing log movement within the yard. Collaborate with fellow operators to meet daily production targets while ensuring wood shaving quality. Safely operate industrial equipment including articulated wheel loaders, knuckle booms, and skid steers, performing routine maintenance such as greasing and cleaning. Coordinate with truck drivers to maintain safe traffic flow and manage log placement around personnel. Adhere strictly to plant safety protocols and work outdoors in varying weather conditions while lifting 50 pounds or more. Use mandatory PPE provided by the employer.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
- Willingness to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions
- Use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Safely operate industrial equipment including articulated wheel loader
- Safely operate industrial equipment including knuckle boom
- Safely operate industrial equipment including skid steer
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including regular greasing and cleaning
- Coordinate with truck drivers to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow in and out of the plant
- Manage the movement and placement of logs throughout the yard, ensuring safe operation around personnel and other machinery
- Remain vigilant and responsive to safety concerns in all weather conditions
- Adhere strictly to all plant safety protocols and procedures
- Work effectively in varying weather conditions
