Job Summary
Travel between and within assigned healthcare facilities to place, collect, and service reusable sharps and medical waste containers, including RCRA pharmaceutical waste. Maintain a strict service and collection schedule while ensuring safe, compliant handling of waste in patient rooms and sensitive environments. Operate independently with minimal supervision, document activities per operational procedures, and build strong customer relationships by resolving service concerns proactively. Requires a valid driver's license, ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and flexibility for outside normal business hours.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must pass a background check, drug screening, and any required healthcare screenings
- Demonstrated strong communication skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service in diverse healthcare settings
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Lift 25–40 lbs frequently; occasionally lift up to 75 lbs
- Push and pull carts weighing 200–400 lbs, including through tight or confined spaces
- Carry sharps containers, pharmaceutical waste boxes, and supplies weighing 15–40 lbs
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between customer facilities
- Ability to maintain sensitivity, professionalism, and discretion in patient-care environments
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours when needed
- Must be willing and able to obtain additional vaccinations, immunizations, or health clearances as required by customer facilities
