Sharps Technician

Job Summary
Place, collect, and transport reusable sharps and medical waste containers across assigned healthcare facilities while maintaining a strict service schedule. Perform routine preventative maintenance, collect RCRA pharmaceutical waste, and review container tags for size adjustments. Operate independently to ensure safe, compliant handling of medical waste in patient rooms, documenting activities and communicating duty status as required. Build strong customer relationships by proactively resolving service concerns. This role includes paid training, company-provided uniforms, and benefits such as tuition reimbursement and a Stay-On bonus.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated strong communication skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service in diverse healthcare settings
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Lift 25–40 lbs frequently; occasionally lift up to 75 lbs
- Push and pull carts weighing 200–400 lbs, including through tight or confined spaces
- Carry sharps containers, pharmaceutical waste boxes, and supplies weighing 15–40 lbs over short to moderate distances
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between customer facilities
- Ability to maintain sensitivity, professionalism, and discretion in patient-care environments
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours when needed
- Must be willing and able to obtain additional vaccinations, immunizations, or health clearances as required by customer facilities
