Shareholder & Descendant Programs Communications Specialist

Job Summary
Develops content to inform, engage, and inspire Shareholders and Descendants, partnering with Corporate Communications to produce culturally respectful storytelling across short- and long-form formats. Responsibilities include capturing on-site content at events, producing photography and video, writing recaps and interviews, and creating content for social media and digital platforms. Works with Programs staff, event planners, and community liaisons to ensure representation and coverage; collaborates with internal stakeholders to elevate program impact; travels as needed to implement programs, with knowledge of Alaska Native heritage and culture guiding communications. Travel and confidential information handling are part of daily duties.
Required Qualifications
- High school education or GED
- Associate’s degree in business, communications or related field preferred
- Previous experience assisting with planning, coordinating and implementing community programs and projects
- Previous experience in content creation, journalism, digital storytelling or social media strategy
- Experience working with Alaska Native cultures and communities; Shareholder and community engagement experience preferred
- Ability to travel to attend events, including weekends or evenings
- Ability to pass a background screening
