Job Summary
Conduct patient intake, measure vital signs, and perform routine diagnostic testing and first aid procedures under physician supervision. Critically listen during appointments to report changing conditions to providers and engage with diverse populations while ensuring OSHA compliance and accurate documentation. Process patient phone messages, relay pertinent information to physicians, and provide health coaching via weekly follow-up calls. Report to regional centers with short notice as needed, with travel mileage reimbursed at standard rates. Requires a Medical Assistant program graduation, three years of MA experience, one year of phlebotomy, and BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education (GED)
- Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR comparable healthcare vocational training (i.e. foreign-trained physician, paramedic, etc.)
- A minimum of 3 years work experience as a Medical Assistant
- 1 year of phlebotomy experience
- BLS for Healthcare Providers
- EClinicalWorks or similar EMR experience
- Ability to travel on occasion for company meetings
- Must possess a high degree of emotional intelligence and integrity, driven and focused work ethic
- Self-starter with the ability to think creatively and work effectively
- Ability to work effectively with various seniorities and diverse populations including staff, providers, members, family members, insurance carriers, vendors and market leadership
- Strong communicator that is customer-oriented
- Excellent critical reasoning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills to analyze situations, determine risks, and find solutions to prevent future issues and resolve recurring defects
- Experience with claims/quality reports and analytical software packages
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel plus a variety of other word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail and presentation software
- Must be able to report to other regional centers with short notice
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus
