Job Summary
Oversee guest safety during waterpark hours and special events while enforcing rules to ensure guest and team safety. Swim the length of the pool in six feet of water, retrieve objects, and respond to emergency situations providing emergency care if necessary. Assist in maintaining park cleanliness, attend staff meetings, and communicate effectively with guests, team members, and leadership. Complete Ellis and Associates lifeguard training and attend monthly training to maintain licensure. Work in hot temperatures with long periods of standing and walking, lifting up to 30 pounds. Due to industry changes, employees may work varying schedules including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- 15 years of age or older
- Complete a 50-yard swim
- Retrieve a brick by swimming a length of 10 feet in 5 feet of water or less
- Show understanding and demonstrate skills required by Ellis and Associate International Lifeguard Training Course (provided by H2OBX)
- Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
- Be able to frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds
- Close vision
- Distance vision

- Peripheral vision
- Depth perception
- Ability to adjust focus
- Correctable vision of 20/20 in both eyes
- Must be able to regularly swim the length of the pool in six (6) feet of water
- Must be able to rescue guest and return them to safety in the event of a potential drowning incident

- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
