Job Summary
Inspect rides and attractions, notifying management of hazards that endanger guests or employees. Perform ride inspection and maintenance programs per Six Flags, Ride Manufacturers, ASTM, and State of Georgia standards. Maintain, erect, and repair theme park rides and facilities, including roofs, fences, buildings, and wooden roller coasters. Construct shelving, fences, storage units, event booths, and sign frames. Visually inspect wooden roller coasters and remove or replace components using hand or power tools. Work as part of an assigned crew performing rough and finish carpentry. Read and interpret drawings and schematics. Keep a daily duty log of maintenance work and accurate records of preventative maintenance. Respond to work orders and conduct carpentry repairs to maintain safe park operation. Adhere to park policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Three to five years of carpentry experience
- Strong knowledge of carpentry best practices and proper construction methods
- Advanced knowledge and experience with hand/power tools and shop equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to professionally interact with other shops and various departments
- Must be able to troubleshoot clearly, calmly and safely in the presence of guests, co-workers and park management
- Ability to write, speak and comprehend English
- Able to meet the physical demands of the job including lifting up to 100 lbs, bending, standing for long periods of time, climbing, and working at heights up to 200 ft
- Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations
- Ability to work outside in any weather conditions, nights, weekends and holidays
- Valid Drivers' License and clean DMV report
- Employees are required to supply their own hand tools
