Job Summary
Instrumentation Technician/Technician Trainee responsible for routine calibration of plant instrumentation and troubleshooting of plant control systems. Calibrate process equipment and control elements including electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, temperature, pressure, level, flow, weight, weighing systems, analytical devices, and NIST standards; troubleshoot and perform corrective maintenance on process equipment; provide troubleshooting/repair of electrical supply and distribution up to 480V AC; troubleshoot/repair of variable frequency drives, servo drives and motors; troubleshoot/repair distributed control systems (DeltaV, ABB, SCADA), PLCs, and HMIs; use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document work; provide detailed documentation of calibration, troubleshooting, and repair; issue/complete hazard analyses and safe work permits (hot work, confined space, hazardous atmosphere); adhere to cGMP, safety and environmental requirements; follow SOPs, P&IDs, job plans and manuals; maintain training curriculum requirements; assist with modification, installation and startup of instrumentation and process control systems; shifts: 12-hour rotating; site: Clayton, NC, USA.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent plus 2 years of experience in maintenance, manufacturing, mechanical trades, or utility equipment operation
- An Associates degree in a relevant technical field for Tech 1 role
- Directly related experience or a combination of education and experience may be considered in place of stated requirements
