Job Summary
Provide confidential counselling and crisis support to adults and young people aged 12+ impacted by sexual assault, abuse, and harmful sexual behaviours. Deliver psychoeducation, safety planning, and advocacy while supporting non-offending family members, carers, and support networks. Prepare case documentation, reports, and court-related materials as required. Participate in case reviews, supervision, and continuous service improvement within a trauma-informed, culturally responsive framework. Work collaboratively with colleagues, external agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure holistic support. Offer face-to-face, telephone, Teams, and outreach-based interventions across Far North Queensland.
Required Qualifications
- A degree qualification in psychology, counselling, or a related discipline
- Experience delivering evidence-based trauma-informed counselling to adults and/or young people
- Knowledge of the impacts and dynamics of sexual assault and violence
- Understanding of cross-cultural practice and culturally safe service delivery
