Job Summary
Conduct sewer maintenance and repair, including manual digging, manhole construction, and brick repair, while operating power tools in confined spaces. Perform physical labor involving lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in extreme temperatures. Operate a Class B Ohio Commercial Driver's License with a tanker endorsement to manage waste water collection. Work independently with a good attendance record during standard hours of 7:30am to 3:30pm, with potential overtime required. Complete necessary licensing within 90 days and pass physical and background investigations.
Required Qualifications
- above average mechanical ability
- knowledge of power operated tools (air, electric and gasoline)
- thorough knowledge of below ground sewer maintenance and repair
- ability to do work involving a great deal of physical labor in the form of manual use of digging and other tools and equipment relating to sewer maintenance and repair
- ability to work in extremes of cold and heat
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently throughout the day
- ability to work under constant physical demands (i.e., bending, reaching, standing, gripping, extensive use of hands, arms and fingers)
- ability to work from ladders
- frequent climbing and squatting
- knowledge and ability to perform brick repair and construction of manholes and catch basins
- possess a working knowledge of safe work practices
- ability to work independently with little to no supervision
- Good work and attendance record
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- valid Class B Ohio Commercial Driver's License with less than eight (8) points
- Class I Waste Water Collection License
- tanker endorsement
