Job Summary
Severe Needs Para Educator at Fox Ridge Middle School supports students with severe special education needs under the guidance of licensed staff. Responsibilities include assisting with curriculum delivery to individuals and small groups, implementing IEP accommodations and programming, recording student progress, providing technical physical care when needed, and aiding in online/remote learning for designated assignments (Autism, Behavior Development, SED, Homebound, ILC). The role involves preparing materials, supervising activities, and maintaining a clean, hygienic environment, with duties that span in-person classroom support and remote learning tasks as required by assigned programs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
- Certificate or degree in education-related field (preferred)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention training
- Medication administration training
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Intermediate verbal and written communication
- Intermediate interpersonal relations
- Intermediate organizational skills
- Ability to work alone and with others
- Ability to modify curriculum
- Ability to implement behavior modification techniques
- Ability to diffuse and manage volatile situations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Experience with autism/behavior challenges/medically fragile conditions preferred
