Job Summary
Operate, set up, and troubleshoot contact heat, preheat thermoforming, and support equipment including case tapers and stackers. Perform preventative maintenance on GN, Lyle, and Sencorp machines while adjusting knives and changing molds. Conduct mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting to determine corrective actions based on product irregularities. Train new mechanics, identify shop efficiencies using computer data, and file production and quality control paperwork. Work 7-7 or 2-2-3 shifts with every other weekend off. Prior experience with thermoforming machinery and hydraulics is desired.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree or equivalent
- Vocational Technical Community College
- Formal Military mechanical and/or technical training
- Previous mechanical or electrical experience
- Thermoforming, Extrusion machinery, or packaging equipment
- Prior experience or training in a related field or manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical control systems
- Solid troubleshooting ability
Desired Qualifications
- Vocational Technical Community College, or Formal Military mechanical and/or technical training a plus
- Previous mechanical or electrical experience preferred
- Thermoforming, Extrusion machinery, or packaging equipment highly desired
- Prior experience or training in a related field or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Personal Computers and Microsoft Office a plus
