Job Summary
Conduct creel and tufting machine changeovers, loading and unloading creels according to specification sheets to ensure minimum downtime. Locate paperwork for the next run, check thread-up and stage settings, cut out creels, and burn in new sets while recording changeover times on production reports. Operate tufting machines, relieve operators for breaks, and recognize quality problems to make corrections. Maintain a daily log, ensure housekeeping, and deposit scrap into specific containers to maximize recycling and minimize waste. Comply with safety rules, environmental regulations, and ISO procedures while supporting the company's carbon-negative sustainability goals.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Intermediate math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals and percentages
- Good communication skills, verbal and written
- Normal color vision or average to above average shade discernment
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs
- Must be able to considerably stand
- Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs
- Must be able to comply with safety rules
- Must be able to comply with environmental regulations
- Must be able to be aware of departmental Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
- Must be able to ensure ISO procedures are followed
Desired Qualifications
- Previous tufting experience
- Previous textile experience
- Interface White Belt and 6S training
