Job Summary
Operate, set up, and troubleshoot packaging equipment while converting semi-finished bulk into finished products. Oversee packaging line functions, verify component usage, and inspect finished goods against compliance standards. Perform assembly, disassembly, and cleaning of tools after production runs, maintaining a safe, clean environment. Complete batch documents, audits, and labour reporting while managing label storage and tracking. Support department initiatives and provide training to new staff. Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, lifting up to 40 lbs. with adherence to GMP and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of related experience
- Experience in set-up and tear-down of packaging equipment
- Sound knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
- Sound understanding of department Standard Operating Procedures
- Ability to deal with highly confidential information
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work at line speed and with minimal supervision
- Basic mathematical skills
- Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
- Proficiency with the English Language
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time
- Arm, hand and finger dexterity
- Visual acuity to operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time
- Use of Personal Protective equipment
- Follow all Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures
- Carry out all duties within strict compliance to Patheon quality systems Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
- Ability to identify routine and unique problems with equipment and recommends solutions
- Ability to accurately complete batch documents and audits documentation process including batch entries, checks, labour reporting, and downtime
- Ability to ensure control and handling of labels to meet cGMP guidelines
- Ability to maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards
- Ability to receive and store labels including all related tracking functions
- Ability to model positive team principles and partnering to meet project and departmental objectives
- Ability to actively engage in and adhere to departmental systems to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow
- Ability to be client and patient conscious at all times

- Ability to follow Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed
- Ability to use Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)
