Settlements Analyst

Job Summary
As part of the Settlement team, you will be required to support the streamlined and efficient financial ecosystem. Enhance the settlement process, ensuring speed, accuracy, and reliability. The Settlements department is primarily responsible for ensuring payment of Meter building Bulk bills, client invoicing, and timely Client Remittances. This position is responsible for participating in the completion of tasks required to meet Key Performance Indicators and Objectives within the Settlements department. Accountabilities include processing Bulk Bill payments, adjustments, deposits, and any exceptions; processing Invoices & Client Remittances within established SLA’s; ensuring new accounts are set up accurately for Settlements; conducting reconciliations or investigations to support inquiries; interacting with external parties (Utility Companies, Property Owners/Managers, Third-Party Vendors) on updates and resolutions; identifying improvement opportunities in Settlements processes; contributing to departmental and company growth initiatives; performing other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- University Degree or Business Administration Certificate or related equivalent experience
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Suite Products (Excel Advanced skills are required – Pivots, VLOOKUP & IF statements)
- SQL knowledge (asset)
- Billing Operations experience (asset)
- Utility, Telecom Industry Experience (asset)
- Detail oriented, analytical, and inquisitive
- Strong team player with interpersonal skills that can create and maintain key partnerships between internal clients and external clients at all levels including Residential Customers, Property Managers, Accountants and Executives
- Highly motivated, pro-active, a flexible professional with the ability to adapt to a complex and vastly changing environment
- Works well under pressure, can work independently/self-manage, fast learner and meet tight deadlines
- Must be flexible to work on multiple tasks while working with challenging deadlines
